"Mayday ... Mayday ... Mayday"

Enroute to the planet Balmorra in search of new adventures, the star freighter upon which you have sought transport has come under attack. The ship shudders violently under the disruptor fire of nearby Sith destroyers. The situation is quite dire.  Through the choking smoke filling the bridge, you hear the freighter captain's voice  ...

"This is Captain Horatio Bloom of the Republic freighter 'Dargo'. We are under attack.  I repeat, we are under attack.  Three Sith Star Destroyers have emerged out of hyperspace in the Balmorra System. Our shields are nearly gone and we have sustained severe damage to our ... "

In a flash of light, the bridge takes a direct hit. Past the exploding consoles and showers of sparks, Captain Bloom now lies dead on the deck plating. The ship pitches wildly to port and, with horror, you feel it begin to plunge towards the planet's atmosphere.  As the klaxon to abandon ship sounds, you decide it is time to leave... 

"One moment, sir.  Sir?!  Wait, sir...wait"

As you turn to leave two droids block your path.  One is a tall silvery protocol model.  The other a small, blue, spherical R1 unit.  The protocol droid waves his mechanical arms wildly as he talks.

"Sir, we are receiving an incoming priority one holonet transmission from Republic Command on Corruscant. Data transfer is complete and security codes have been verified. Sir, the message is for you.  You are receiving orders.."

Before you can protest, the R1 unit emits a holographic projection in your path.  Indeed it is a message from the Republic.  You recognize the image of your former commanding officer.

"Commander, this is a priority communique that I trust will find you well.  Your 'retirement' from service to the Galactic Republic was premature. Our forces have come under attack by the Sith, and we need all available personnel to report for duty. By order of Repubic Command, you are directed to rendezvous with our operatives on the small moon, Balmorra 5, there to join a special expeditionary force known as Aurora. This is no usual outfit Commander, they are the best of the best. And I should add that your mission is highly classified. Serving the Jedi Council themselves, Aurora will be our vanguard on missions to thwart the Sith and defend the Republic. Welcome back to the Republic service, Commander.  And good luck on your mission."

As  your sudden reinstatement with the Republic forces sinks in, the sound of the klaxon reminds you that destruction of the ship is imminent.  Reaching an escape pod, you push your new-found droid companions inside, strap into a seat, and punch out.  As the pod hurdles towards the the fifth moon in the Balmorran system, you realize that your fortunes are at a crossroad. Will you stand by as the Sith defeat the Jedi, or worse, join them in their misdeeds?  Or will you join this force, called Aurora, to help the Republic restore peace and save the galaxy once again?
