COMMAND CODES ACTIVE SEARCH PARAMETERS: ROLE PLAYING ROLES
Who am I? What is my role? Do I get a tricorder or phaser? Do I hang out with nurses or sit on the bridge? Can I fly the ship or fire photon torpedoes? These questions all new recruits face. In Aurora Fleet, the answers depend on your own role-playing choices. This page provides ideas on roles you may to role play (portray to others) within the guild.
Role playing means that you step into your game avatar's shoes, carve out a role for him or her, and then, through your character's actions, emotes, and words, you portray that role to others. What will make your character memorable? What will make your engineer seem like an engineer to others? It is up to you to decide and bring that to life for others.
While all members of the fleet are in command of their own starships, Aurora Fleet members are asked to add background to their character by filling a role. The role you fill is up to you. Star Fleet roles are categorized by the various departments shown below. You may use these, or other in-game skills, as a basis to craft and role play your character.
Character rank in Star Fleet is another role playing consideration. You can find a description of Star Fleet, and Aurora Fleet, ranks on our ranks page.
So you want to command a starship? Starships are led by command staff. The commanding officer (CO) of a vessel is the senior officer in charge, whose duty is to lead missions and direct crew. In Aurora guild, all members are assumed to command a ship, regardless of rank. Roles may include:
