Nothing lasts forever.  The Golden Age, peaceful co-existence of the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans over the 40 year period following the Dominion War, is over.  Whether due to politics, competition over territory or resources, or age-old distrust, it matters little now.  Battle lines once again are drawn.  We are at war

Yet, if you ask me, something is strange about it all, something I cannot quite put my finger on.  The situation changed quickly, as if the fabric of the galaxy, and our lives, was suddenly and irrevocably altered. Was this how it was meant to be?  Or was it caused by an undetected temporal incursion changing our timeline? Who is to say?

Since the legendary voyage of the Enterprise NX-01, Starfleet has known about the Temporal Cold War, an attempt of beings capable of time travel to change the past to create a future in favor of themselves.  We thought it had ended, but the Borg invasion of 2368 was a reminder that the temporal threat remains.  It always remains...

Despite directives to avoid time travel, Starfleet Operations has secretly monitored all known or potential temporal events and has taken direct measures to protect and preserve the Federation timeline.  Some even claim that a shadowy organization known only as 'Section 31' takes these matters into their own hands...

With renewed tensions between the Federation and competing empires, we are again mobilized for war.  Our orders are to rendezvous with the Aurora Fleet at Station Epsilon Ceti, taking up a defensive position near the new Romulan Neutral Zone.  There our mission and adventure begins.

That is not all.  There is something extraordinary about Aurora Fleet.  It is said to be special expeditionary unit of Starfleet, the finest fleet of the Federation, undertaking the most daring of spatial and temporal operations.  Its orders, and those I just received, are to preserve the Federation and its timeline at all costs.  Yet Starfleet denies the involvement of Section 31...

Where, or when, the fleet's missions will take us not even Starfleet Command knows.  All that can be said is that a great darkness looms upon us, one that will engulf the Federation if something is not done.  It is up to Aurora Fleet, the finest fleet of the Federation, to place herself in darkness' way.  Aurora.  A light amidst darkness.  So shall Aurora Fleet is and shall forever be.
