BEAM
UP TO AURORA FLEET
Aurora Fleet is a Star Trek Online (STO)
gaming squad. Beam up and join us! The fleet
maintains a simple enlistment process
that those
interested in joining are asked to follow. This process
is meant to ensure that members know how to find our web site, have
an opportunity to review our fleet rules, and are able to communicate in a fun, friendly
manner. To join follow the
guidelines below.
When joining, remember that Aurora Fleet recruits players aligned
with the Federation. We welcome players who wish to
role playing Starfleet captains, space marines, diplomats, and the
like. While we may play alternative faction characters (e.g., Klingons) for guild events and fun distractions,
our
captains must be Starfleet first and foremost.
ENLISTMENT PROCESS
Follow these steps to join the guild:
STEP
1
Are you ready to join Aurora Fleete? Take a moment to be sure. First,
review our web site to familiarize yourself with our operations
and style. By utilizing our site, reading our forums and
voice media, or participating
with us in game you agree
to abide by our fleet general orders, notices, and terms. Be
sure to follow our enlistment process
and fleet rules. We have no 'three strike' policy.

STEP 2
If you like what you see and still wish to
join, it is time to undertake a small trial to show that you are a
good fit for our fleet.
To proceed, post a
role-played introduction of
your STO character in our
Transporter Room
forum. This story should
be game-focused and will serve as your application. Your post should be a
short story
told from your character's perspective. It should tell us your character's name, background, how they came to join the
fleet,
and other details you wish to create. It should not require a response to be complete.
Offer
a creative introduction placing your best foot forward, as there
are no second chances. Out of character, also share your
in-game handle or character names so
we can recognize you in game.
STEP
3
The fleet will review your
introductory post as your application
to join.
We typically review applications weekly. Meanwhile remain active on our forums and
join the fleet as a probationary recruit in game, as practicable, so that we can see you are
around. Those recruits who post a greeting and then vanish might
not be accepted. Those recruits who follow the process,
communicate in a friendly manner, who behave according to fleet
general orders, and who remain active generally will be
welcomed.
STEP
4
Watch the forums to determine your status with the fleet.
Member selection is
announced in our Briefing Room board. When
you see your character name announced, take your place as a
member
of the guild, charged to join us in game and uphold our reputation for
professionalism, daring and honor. If you have not followed
the enlistment process you may be discharged, without notice, from
recruiting and membership consideration and will be dropped from the
fleet in game. It is up to you to follow our enlistment
instructions. We assume those who don't will not be good
members.
A
NOTE ON ROLE PLAYING
The introductory role playing
approach described above is Aurora's hurdle for newcomers
wishing to enter the guild. Beyond this, the fleet has no
requirement for role playing. Our fleet officers may
role play or not at their own discretion. Those who enjoy role
playing may engage others by making it inclusive and fun, but always
keeping it optional. Several
boards in our forums are set aside for role playing for those who
enjoy it. All we ask is that everyone communicate in a
friendly, professional manner, and that those who do not
wish to role play respect those that do.
RED
ALERT!
Aurora Fleet recruits friendly, well-spoken, mature-minded gamers who place the camaraderie of the
team ahead of
the personal trials of online gaming. Folks prone to
bouts of negativity, grief, drama, complaining, swearing, and/or rudeness
are not welcomed. We are here to
play a game for fun. Those who negatively impact the enjoyment
of the guild may be dismissed without notice.
There is no three strike policy. The best advice for everyone is to always keep a 'game face' on, put your best foot
forward, keep it light hearted, and have fun!
